Natural Aloe Vera and Almond Oil Moisturizer

Aloe Vera isn’t the only amazing ingredient. Almond oil also has lots of great properties: it is rich in vitamin E and D, soothes irritated skin, relieves dry and chapped skin and helps delay the ageing process.

These two ingredients together form a wonderfully simple moisturizer recipe that is a must for everybody!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel (we mean any good brand name product)
  • 2 tablespoons of Coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon liquid Vitamin E Oil (However, if you use the Genuine aloe vera, they normally add small amounts of pure vitamin E to the aloe, so you do not have to add extra)
  • 2 tablespoons Almond oil

Method:

Simply take a clean cup or bowl and add the Aloe and oil in, then mix it well.

Melt the coconut oil (slowly) and add it to the mixture.

That’s it! As simple as that, you have a moisturizer that you can use regularly for normal skin.

Some people like to combine the mixture with essential oils, however, we prefer to keep them out of daily moisturizers as they can often leave you smelling too strongly whilst out and about.

Aloe Vera Treats Sunburn

Aloe vera relieves in sunburn conditions. It has strong and influential therapeutic effects at the epithelial level of the skin. Aloe vera stops burning sensations and prevents swelling. It penetrates deep into the damaged skin layers and reduces the pain and swelling associated with it. Due to its nourishing potentials and antioxidant properties, the skin restores faster. Aloe vera juice forms a protective layer over burned and peeling skin, hydrating it and holding moisture in. It also fights bacteria that cause infection.

Aloe Vera is Shown to Treat Acne

There’s a good reason why Aloe vera is found in so many cosmetic products: this succulent and mucilaginous plant, which is characterized by its green, spear-shaped leaves, is well-known for its ability to heal, soothe and rejuvenate the skin. Indeed, virtually all cultures that had contact with Aloe vera came to recognize its significant skin-boosting properties over time, and it remains a popular natural remedy for treating skin issues such as eczema, psoriasis, burns and rashes.

However, a recent study published in The Journal of Dermatological Treatment has discovered that Aloe vera is also effective at treating acne. For the study, the researchers assembled a group of 60 subjects suffering from mild to moderate acne and, over an eight-week trial period, treated them with a formulation of either tretinoin cream and Aloe vera topical gel or tretinoin cream and a placebo. At the end of the trial, the results were undeniable: "The combination TR/AVG was well tolerated and significantly more effective than TR and [the placebo] for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris."

To use Aloe vera for acne, simply apply some Aloe vera gel onto the affected area daily. The gel will improve the swelling, redness and inflammation associated with acne, and also prevent future outbreaks.

What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. It grows wild in tropical climates around the world and is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. Aloe is also used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.

It is found in many consumer products including juice, skin lotion, or ointments for minor burns and sunburns. There is little scientific evidence of the effectiveness or safety of Aloe vera extracts for either cosmetic or medicinal purposes.
